Dancers in Landscape 1 A

Walking quotes from 1st Meeting

There are walks on which we tread in the footsteps of others, walks on which we strike out entirely for ourselves. Rebecca Solnit

Looking, singing, resting, breathing, are all complimentary to walking. Thomas Clarke

We can walk between two places and in doing so establish a link between them, bringing them into a warmth of contact, like introducing two friends. TC

Always, everywhere, people have walked, veining the earth with paths visible and invisible, symmetrical and meandering. TC

The line of a walk is articulate in itself, a kind of statement.
If a poem is each time new, then it is necessarily an act of discovery, a chance taken - A poem is a walk. a R Ammons

The body- mind is so at one with this rough ready world that it makes these moves effortlessly once it has had a bit of practice. The mountain keeps up with the mountain. G Snyder

I stide along with calm, with eyes, with shoes, with fury, with forgetfulness. Neruda
